Great stuff, Sharon - proving without shadow of a doubt that Field Trial dogs should be correctly made too! If more working people took note of that and mated their bitches to dual purpose dogs there would be better animals all round! _________________ Aberdon HPR's. Good-looking AND Intelligent.
I was waiting for such a thread to wade in and just say how thrilled I was at winning Novice with Misty with a score of 91 at the SRHP GWT.
We were doing our hunting on that beet and the judge Sue Lamb had hoped to move each handler on and provide a new beat, but after I went first, the remainder were generally happy to have most of the same beat.
I spoke with Liza Brown on Sunday and I said they were quite challenging tests in Novice, e.g. with a bolting rabbit the first I had seen used on a Novice test. Liza said that Open had the bolting rabbit being sprung on the outward trip to the seen dummy whereas ours was on the homeward trip.
There was a shot and retrieve at the end of the hunting test too.
I quite agree that it was a great place to hold such an event and as the water test required a shuttle drive in the back of a pick-up to the water, I was trying to raffle a prize of a trip in the back of the pick up with you know who!
Well done on your double achievement Sharon, and the pup was adorable!! _________________ Nigel
