scotty if your friends dog is getting ginger ask him to get his vet to check for cushings, coat change is one of the earliest signs in the weimaraner the coat takes on an orange tinge and vets often mistake it for liver problems.
Dan, without seeing the dog I wouldn't want to make a guess at what it was that you saw, there has recently been a litter of blue puppies bred in the uk but its a fault in the current breed standard and the colour has not been seen in this country besides the odd pet brought in prior to 2004 when the first breeding bitch was imported. There is a thread on the blue weimaraner elsewhere on the forum you might find interesting.
Locally there have been some terrible crosses from dobermans to labs and one litter advertised was for a rottweiler x weim personally I would avoid these types of litters because you won't know what you are getting. _________________ These are my personal opinions and do not represent in any way the views of the WCGB.
