I don't know the law as it applies to starting pistols. To get around this problem I have bought one of the dummies that bang when thrown. I have found that it often fails to bang when thrown but does bang when held and used in much the same way as a dummy launcher.
This will be used when I start teaching sit to shot.

) . Has anyone else used the 8mm blank firers for dog training - WOW they are LOUD but the downside is that the blanks are very expensive compared to the .22 !!! (£16.50 for 50 blanks).

Gosh are they that much - I am about to run out. I have to admit I always pull the trigger with it behind my back.

Good for getting cordite smell onto dummies though - lots of smoke.
