Pippa from the Gundog Club has asked for some help in recruiting some more panellists for the Gundog Clubs HPR Field tests. If you know anyone within your breed who might be suitable please contact them and ask them to contact Pippa. This seems a great opportunity for getting in on the ground floor and helping to raise the standard of HPR work in the UK and hopefully attract more people into working their HPR (which IMHO can only be a good thing). It would also appear to be a good chance for the minor breeds to have a say in the way things are tested.
Obviously if you have the required skills and experience yourself, please contact Pippa directly.
| Quote: | The Gundog Club is seeking two more experienced HPR trainers to join its panel of experts. Panellists will have the opportunity to influence the Field Test designs of the new Gundog Club awards scheme.
The scheme introduces a series of graded field tests in which dogs are tested against a standard laid down by the panel. The tests are designed to assess the dog and to motivate the handler as they pass through the training process from approximately six months of age, up to Open Working Test standard.
Panellist are not required to travel or commit large amounts of time. Contact is mainly by email and occasionally by telephone
After initial consultations, drafts of each Field Test are prepared and distributed to the panel as email attachments. Each panellist is then free to amend, add to, or comment on the draft as they see fit. Re-drafts are produced based on the input received and these is turn are sent out for the approval of panel members.
Most, but not all, of our current panellists are KC panel judges. Other types of extensive HPR experience would be considered. Please note that the KC has confirmed in writing that they will not discriminate against those who participate in our scheme.
All panel members are entitled to free registration as an assessor with the Club and to free advertising on our busy website.
If you think you might be interested in contributing to the development of our new scheme, please telephone us on 01428 717529 or email admin@thegundogclub.co.uk |
